<![CDATA[ The sound you are hearing was discovered while an unnamed friend of mine and I were participating in a tour the Canada’s’ Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, the Capital of Canada.
We had a bit to drink and smoke prior to the tour (on the front lawn naturally) and so, of course, we had to go on our own adventure. And in doing so, we escaped to some sort of basement portion of the buildings and came across an open door that looked as though it should not have been open.
Upon entering, we found that it probably didn’t matter to the grounds that it was open, and so we took our own tour.
While it was a lot of junk in storage, waiting to be removed permanently, we came across what had to be the first answering machine in the world, or at least Canada.
We didn’t think we’d be able to take it out of the building without being arrested, but not to the surprise of the common thief, it was terribly easy as I held it in my arm, making it look like it was light as a feather and assuming that nobody in the building had ever seen it before.
We walked right past security, straight out a doorway, over to the street, and eventually to our downtown hotel not far away.
This is where we plugged the thing into a power outlet and hit play.
And what did we hear? Well, you just heard it!
The phone in the photo is my own.
So if you want to figure out the spelling of George “Skatalnik” and find out whose voice that was, then please keep me posted.
Please note that this tour took place prior to September 11, 2001, so you’re not going to get down to that basement unless you get a job there!
Cheers
